Most people who sail Croatia see the same nine places. There are a thousand islands.

Croatia Undiscovered goes where the charter fleets do not: the villages with one konoba and no sign, the shepherd who still makes cheese in a stone hut, the olive press that has been in the same family for two hundred years, the bay you can only reach by water and only anchor in if you know the bottom.

It is a food and place week as much as a sailing one. We eat what the island has — not what a menu says it should have. We buy fish off the boat that caught it. And we go in the shoulder season, when the coast belongs to the people who live on it again.

You will not recognise the photographs afterwards, which is rather the point.

The Rhythm

How The Days Run

Day One
Split. Boarding and out of the main channel before dinner.
Day Two
The first island most people have never heard of. Lunch where the fishermen eat.
Day Three
A long passage to the outer islands. Cheese and oil at the source.
Day Four
A bay reachable only by water. Swimming, and nothing else all day.
Day Five
A working village. The catch, the konoba, and a very long dinner.
Day Six
The crew chooses, from everything we have passed.
Day Seven
Return to Split.
