Top 10 Yacht Charter Destinations To Watch In 2026

We are based in the Adriatic and we arrange worldwide. These are the grounds worth the flight, and what each one is actually like on the water.

Charter destinations get ranked constantly and the lists are largely interchangeable. What follows is organised by what the sailing is like rather than by how photogenic the anchorage is, because those are not the same thing.

The Mediterranean

Croatia
A thousand islands, short hops, protected water and no tide. The best cruising ground in the Mediterranean for anyone who wants to sail rather than motor between resorts — and our home water.
Greece — the Ionian
Gentle, reliable afternoon breeze, short distances, forgiving. The best place in Europe to learn.
Greece — the Cyclades
The meltemi makes this serious sailing. Beautiful, demanding, and not a first charter.
Italy — the Aeolians
Volcanic islands north of Sicily. Stromboli erupting at night from an anchorage is unmatched anywhere.
The Balearics
Short passages, superb infrastructure, and Menorca’s northern coast in the shoulder season is far quieter than its reputation.
Turkey — the Turquoise Coast
Deep sheltered bays, gulet culture, and ruins you can anchor beneath. Excellent value.

The Caribbean

British Virgin Islands
Line-of-sight sailing between islands, steady trade winds, and the most beginner-friendly ground in the region.
Grenadines
Longer passages, less development, better sailing. Where people go on their second Caribbean charter.
Antigua
The historic centre of Caribbean yachting, and the place to be in season if the point is the fleet as much as the sailing.

The right question is not where is most beautiful. It is what do you want the days to feel like.

Further afield

Seychelles
Granite islands, warm water year-round, and short distances. Catamaran country.
Maldives
Atolls rather than islands, best sailed as a liveaboard with a dive brief. A different proposition entirely — see our guide.
Norway and the high latitudes
Growing quickly. Cold-water sailing with light that lasts all night in June, and scenery no warm-water ground can approach.
French Polynesia
The long-haul answer. Expensive to reach, and the sailing between the Society Islands justifies it.

Choosing

Season first, ability second, distance third. The Mediterranean runs April to October and the Caribbean December to May, which means the two halves of the year have obvious answers. Anyone chartering for the first time should sail somewhere with short hops and reliable wind — the Ionian, the BVI, or Croatia.

Everything else is a matter of what you want to look at when you stop.
